A 1975 British comedy film, is a story that parodies the legend of King Arthur’s quest for the Holy Grail. Written and performed by the Monty Python comedy group of Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin, and directed by Gilliam and Jones.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail was mostly shot on location in Scotland, particularly around Doune Castle. The many castles seen throughout the film were mainly either Doune Castle shot from different angles or miniatures.
