A 1984 British-American drama-Fantasy, television film, adaptation of Charles Dickens famous 1843 novella of the same name. The film was directed by Clive Donner, and stars George C. Scott. The movie, was filmed on location in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, in the English Midlands.


Old Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly trader, has disregard for his fellow men in need and he considers Christmas to be money and time wasting nonsense. Scrooge declines his nephew Fred Hollywell’s (Roger Rees) invitation for Christmas dinner and reluctantly accepts his loyal employee Bob Cratchit’s (David Warner) request to have Christmas off since there will be no business for Scrooge during the day.
On the night of December 25th, he received an unexpected visitor. The ghost of his business partner Jacob Marley, who died seven years ago, comes to him to warn him of a terrible fate.
Marley now offers Scrooge an opportunity to mend himself and to get rid of his hard-heartedness and greed. For this purpose, three spirits will visit him, the ghost of Christmas past, the ghost of Christmas present and the ghost of Christmas yet to come.
