Palazzo del Governatorato – The seat of the Pontifical Commission in the Vatican City

The palace is located in the Vatican Gardens behind St. Peter’s Basilica. It was built in the eclectic style between 1927 and 1931 by Piedmont engineer and architect Giuseppe Momo and is made up of three massive buildings.

Attached to the palace is the church of Santa Maria Regina della Famiglia, formerly Santa Marta, also designed by Momo. The front garden is decorated with a flower design from the Pope’s coat of arms.
