National Palace Museum – The world’s largest collection of priceless Chinese art treasures in Taipei

A permanent collection of nearly 600,000 pieces of ancient Chinese imperial artifacts and artworks, making it one of the largest of its type in the world. The collection encompasses 5,000 years of history of Chinese art from the Neolithic age to the modern. Most of the collection are high quality pieces collected by China’s emperors.

The National Palace Museum’s main building was designed by Huang Baoyu and constructed from 1964 to 1965. The museum was later expanded and in 2002 underwent a major renovation. It officially reopened in 2007

Several treasured items are the pride of their collection and famous worldwide. The antiquities in the National Palace Museum span over thousands of years with a variety of genres.
